Are you not entertained?
At what point do you just need to try and push the chips in?
At what point does a fun side bit turn into a civic duty?
I don’t know the actual answer to those questions. I do know, however, that as someone who regularly tries to “scratch my own itch” and as someone who has dedicated pretty much my entire life and career to lacrosse - I felt like the time is now that MN HS LAX gets a little more love.
I think, in the long run, we’d love all this content to be free of charge. So, if you know someone who will sponsor us, please let me know. Until then, I am trying to find a way to continue putting more time/energy into covering High School Lacrosse. It is a shame that we have so many great lacrosse players, coaches, officials, parents and fans of MN High School lacrosse yet so little coverage of the amazing things happening in our sport.
I do appreciate you willing to spend 9.99 /mo and add yet, ANOTHER, subscription service to your monthly budget to get the extended content of the DTA Crew.
Will lacrosse always be a small niche sport? Probably. But, the least we can do is give some love to the relatively small group of dedicated people involved. That is what this whole website/podcast/idea is aimed to do.
Hopefully, this can become a place where knowledgeable, dedicated contributors can give us an inside look as to what is happening around our state in the sport of lacrosse. It will take a village and I am not doing this alone, hence, “the associates” part of this blog. I have a few peers and colleagues willing to help cover the season as best we can.
Sure, there are going to be hot takes. Maybe some #36Bias and maybe even some “metro/south suburban bias”
Lacrosse in MN has always been a project of dedication by those involved. Being resourceful instead of having resources. That won’t change but maybe, just maybe, with a little help from my friends we can put lacrosse a bit more on the map. Maybe even our school’s will recognize us as a “real” sport soon, too.
So, here’s to a great 2023 season,
-Coach Ted
