DTA Power Rankings: BOYS 4.26
Now that every team has finally played a game I think it’s time for the first edition of the DTA Power Rankings.
BSM - Their worst day winning by 6 goals. Holding teams to 2.5 GPG. Yes.
Chanhassen - Looks to be a methodical, defensive team with a couple high end offensive playmakers
Shakopee - Huge win over the Lakers, defense looks strong and offense popped off against a good opponent
Lakeville North - Best Face-Off guy, elite offense, team speed and energy. Absolute Electric Factory.
PL - They lost an early season game to a top 5 team? No big deal. Just their MO. Don’t be the one to count them out.
Maple Grove - Proving they are for real. Taking care of business with their schedule. Excited for their game against Chan
Minnetonka - Talent is there. Lost to Lakeville North but ran with them and stayed in the game.
Mahtomedi - Big win vs Centennial in the opener. Tied 3-3 with chan at half yesterday. Big game vs STA coming up
Edina - Beat Rosemount and EP to open the season. Two quality wins. Young, well-coached team taking the next step.
Armstrong - Scoring TONS of goals. Pass the eye test for me. Looking forward to some tougher games
Woodbury - Huge win to open the year vs STA and nice comeback win vs Eastridge. Big game against Stillwater
Stillwater - Loss to BSM in a sloppy 1st game, but, rebounded nicely. Talent is there for them to work back into top 10
St. Thomas Academy - Weird loss in the opener against Woodbury but have looked great since, offense is firing now
The Valley - Only loss is to BSM and have looked pretty dominant in other games, however, weak schedule so far
Rosemount - Huge hype heading into the season but lost both of their tough games. Need a quality win to get back up
Wayzata - Great turnaround from last year. Big wins vs Buffalo and STMA. Some tough “prove it games coming up”
Farmington - Taking care of business so far, but, struggled against Mayo and Owatonna. “Prove it games” coming up
White Bear Lake - Like the two above, taking care of business thus far. First big test next week vs Woodbury
Centennial - tough losses to MG & Maht. Still a good team but a weak schedule. Prove it games vs Armstrong and BSM
Eagan - close loss to STA but hasn’t played since - not a ton of info yet. Thu. game vs Farmington should be a good one
Irondale - Close loss with Stillwater. Down 4-3 to Woodbury at half before game got postponed. Need more into on them
Chisago Lakes - The 16 goal performance against Hill last night is worth noting - they deserve some recognition
Rochester Mayo - close loss to Farmington, big wins in other games. Something here to watch
Orono - had a 3-1 lead at BSM. Played Tonka to a 3-3 2nd half. Something is here, but, need to find a way to play 48 mins
Totino-Grace - Scoring a ton of goals. Weaker schedule but put 12 in on Armstrong. Dial in the defense and who knows?
