Game Notes 4/29: Stillwater @ Rosemount
Another tale of two halves with Stillwater winning 14-13 in OT!
Stillwater won opening draw and scored…and then Rosemount got a little hot!
Rosemount scored the next 5 goals unanswered to lead 5-1…all by different goal scorers.
Stillwater scored the next two…and we thought this was going to be the comeback…we had to wait.
Rosemount scored 6 of the next 8 goals to take an 11-5 lead with less than a minute. Stillwater scored a goal at the horn to make it a 11-6 half time lead for Rosemount.
Rosemount built this lead by winning draws, playing aggressive and hitting open cuts on the goal circle.
Rosemount scored the first goal of the half, about 2 minutes in…they would only score 1 more goal the rest of the day.
Stillwater 4 straight and then another 3 straight, with Rosemount scoring 1 lone goal to tie the game up at 13 with 4 minutes left in the game. They stalled for the last shot, including taking a time out with a minute left…really not getting one off.
However, Stillwater won the draw in OT and scored the goal, marking a huge comeback win and giving Rosemount a heart-breaking loss.
All of Rosemount goals were scored by Sophomores. Once they figure this thing out, they are going to be a problem in 2024 and 2025.
