Game Notes 5/13: Prior Lake @ Eden Prairie

If you like goals scored, this was the game for you!  Prior Lake controlled most of the game, but not without a furious run by Eden Prairie in the second half that fell just short, with Prior Lake winning 20-14.

Close and slow game to start, as they traded goals for about the first 10 minutes, with PL taking a 4-3 lead.  Prior Lake then put the pedal down 6 straight goals to go up 10-3 with 3 minutes left.  EP chipped in a goal to make it 10-4, only to have PL score 2 goals as the half closed to make it 12-4.

EP made all of the adjustments at half, aided by some rain and 3 PL yellow cards.  EP scored 4 straight goals to start the half, making it 12-8.  PL took back control with 3 goals of their own making it 15-8.  The teams then traded goals back and forth through the end of the game with PL ending up winning 20-14.

Kayleigh Sandell had herself a game with 7 goals and an assist.  Sadie Chappuis had 6 assists, distributing the ball to the entire PL offense.

EP really did a great job of controlling the draw, but dug too deep a hole in the first half to mount a reasonable comeback.
